About Me

M.S., CCC-SLP - Licensed Speech Therapist

Hello!

Welcome to Five Star Therapy! My name is Rachel Porritt, a licensed speech-language pathologist with a passion for pediatrics! After receiving my undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduate degree from Rush University, I've worked with a large breadth of children over the last decade to enhance their ability to communicate and excel both socially and academically.

Having worked in school settings, in-home settings, and outpatient pediatric settings, I have serviced a wide array of pediatric speech-communication disorders including: speech sound disorders, motor speech disorders, receptive-expressive language disorders, social-communication disorders, stuttering and cluttering fluency disorders, and cognitive communication disorders. I have experience working with clients with cognitive, neurologic, and genetic impairments including autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and Angelman syndrome. I am also a certified pediatric feeding-swallowing therapist specializing in oral-motor delays and oral-sensory aversions. With certifications in the SOS Approach to Feeding, PROMPT oral musculature therapy, and the Beckman Oral Motor protocol, I offer specialized and comprehensive care for your little ones.

Hope to connect further to get to know you and your little one more!
